Jason Huemer
Prior to co-founding Rhizome Network, Jason was COO and CEO of Xinova LLC. Before joining Xinova, Jason was the President
of Photino.io, a blockchain and cryptocurrency startup built with pioneering technology developed by former Bell Labs scientists.
Previously, he was the Founder and Managing Partner of Matau Capital, an alternative investment focused consulting firm which has undertaken projects in blockchain and cryptocurrency, specialty finance, alternative credit, quantitative strategies and private equity. Jason has worked as an alternative investments professional since the mid-1990s. From 2009 to 2014, he was the President of Visium Asset Management, which grew from a $1 billion healthcare focused hedge fund to a $7 billion+ multi-strategy, multi-product platform under his leadership. Prior to Visium, he was CEO of Atlas Capital Management, Managing Director of SAC Capital Management and COO of that firm’s Sigma Capital division, President and Founder of Synthesis Funds (now part of the 3G organization) and COO of York Capital
Management.
Earlier in his career, Jason worked in the private equity
industry as a portfolio manager at Mitchell Hutchins and Alliance Capital and as a banker at Bankers Trust and ING Barings.
Jason began his career as a financial journalist and for several years wrote the monthly “Hedge Row” column in the Financial Times. Jason has an AB in Philosophy and Economics from Columbia University, where he graduated cum laude and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, and an MBA in Finance from New York University.
